About Mysore-style classes: A Mysore-style class is a step-by-step method for learning Ashtanga yoga, where students are taught individually in a group setting. This means students of all levels and circumstances practice together, cultivating a space of deeper internal listening and allowing one to learn at their own natural pace. Meghan’s approach is inclusive and encouraging while focusing on cultivating a sustainable lifelong practice for every student.

New students to Ashtanga Mysore should allow 45 minutes for their practice. You do not need to know or memorize anything to join the classes. Over the five days, you will learn the foundations of the Ashtanga Primary Series and leave with a practice that you can do anywhere.

Everyone is welcome.

About the workshops:

Fundamentals of Backbending

We often think that we need to be bendy to do a backbend. But actually, backbends require us to be long and strong. From upward-facing dog to dropping back into urdhva dhanurasana, the same basic elements can be found in all backbends. In this workshop, we will explore ways of developing strength of the legs, openness of the heart, and extension through the spine to practice backbending with confidence – and, more importantly, pain-free.

Courage to Fly: Exploring Arm Balances and Inversions

Arm balances are exhilarating and empowering but, sometimes, a little scary too! In this workshop, we will find the courage to lift our feet off the ground and discover lightness by breaking down postures into a step-by-step progression. From crow pose to handstands, we will explore different variations and ways of making going upside down more approachable wherever you’re at.

Cost:

  • 5 Mysore Classes + Workshops: $200
  • Mysore Only: $150
  • Both Workshops: $115
