Podcast Episode 7: Christine Hoar
Christine Hoar is a woman with nearly 20 years of practice and teaching experience. Christine is a direct student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Guruji). (Though for years, he referred to her affectionately as “Nancy’s (Gilgoff) student,” her teacher!) And so when Jen René and I stumbled upon her on a beach in Costa Rica, Jen summed up perfectly how both of us were feeling:
“I didn’t realize what we were missing until we met her.”
Because if you’re a woman in this practice, I don’t need to tell you how rare it is to find women with that kind of depth and experience in the practice. And I haven’t even told you the best part – it was my daughter, Meghan, who introduced us.
Can you believe it? Of course you can!
And here’s the thing: none of this was planned. Not meeting Christine, not the podcast, and I certainly hadn’t anticipated talking for nearly an hour about such personal issues as menstruation and menopause! Of course, maybe it WAS the plan … just not mine!
Because since that day, Christine would continue to play an important part in my life. She was there with me on my 50th birthday, helping me celebrate … and with me again, when I adopted my pup, Indie, in Mysore. Needless to say, Christine is an important part of my life – and it all started here. With this podcast.
I know you’ll love her as much as I do. And please, share this podcast with your friends … because this is a conversation we ALL need to hear!
